I'll add more to this, but this was the prize shot. This sow was circling us... both her cubs were treed withing 20 feet... my buddies had spray backup while I snapped photos and vid of her popping her teeth, blowing snot, huffing, stamping her feet... Good stuff!!!

Nice photo!  Been to that rodeo before.  Did she throw in some fun-loving bluff charges and slam the ground with her front paws?  If you don't soil your shorts at that point, your colon is in good shape!  :chuckle:

You know, two guys were standing behind me with bear spray and i've been in real close to several boat loads of black bears...that I felt pretty comfortable. However...I did notice that I had to rest my cam on a tree or log to get good focused pics! :chuckle:

She did some real short (like 1-3 yards)  bluffs and stamped her feet on the ground, blew snot all over the place nad did some great snorting and whoofing... Fun chit...

Like you, I've filmed a few boat loads of black bears...man, you've got some nads.  I respect them and have been very close but when cubs are involved, I tend to move away.  They can snap on a dime and all the pepper spray does is add seasoning to your hiney  :chuckle:

Nah...she didn't want nothing to do with us...she tried to bluff...and it didn't work...  ;) Scariest part was when I had my eye glued to my viewfinder and she is coming real slow towards me at about 18 yards... and I hear my buddies footsteps backing away! :yike: I was like.. .hey mother $%^#*#$^#'s ... dont be leaving me...you are the ones with the Defense!!! :chuckle:

If I was by myself I would have snapped about 2 pics and headed further away.....
